POLICY

Materials, deposits & dissatisfaction

Plain English. No fine print games. Last updated 2026.

1. How the deposit works

When you book online, we collect a deposit equal to the materials cost shown in your quote. We use that deposit to purchase your lumber, posts, gate hardware, and stain the same week. The deposit is then applied dollar-for-dollar against your final invoice, so you only owe the remaining labor balance after the fence is built.

2. Materials are non-refundable once ordered

Once we order your materials (typically within 24 hours of booking), they're yours. Cedar pickets, steel posts, and gate hardware are not returnable to our suppliers, so the materials portion of the deposit cannot be refunded after that point.

Cancel before we order: if you cancel within 24 hours of booking, you get a 100% refund. After that, the materials deposit is forfeit, but we'll deliver the ordered materials to your address at no extra charge if you'd prefer to take possession.

3. Site walk and footage adjustments

Before we dig, we do a free site walk to confirm the property line, footage, and gate placement. If the actual footage is within 10% of your quote, the price doesn't change. If it's more than 10% off either direction, we re-quote and you can either accept the revised number or cancel with a refund of any unused deposit (less actual materials cost incurred to date).

4. Workmanship guarantee

Every fence we build comes with a 3-year workmanship warranty on cedar and 1-year workmanship warranty on pine. If a post leans, a picket pops, or a gate sags due to our install, we come back and fix it free. Damage from storms, vehicles, or third parties is not covered.

5. If you're not satisfied

Tell us within 7 days of completion. We'll come back out within 5 business days and walk the fence with you. If something is wrong with the build, we fix it on the spot or schedule a re-do at no charge. If after that walk you're still unsatisfied and the issue is genuinely on us, we'll discount the labor portion of your invoice up to 20%.

We do not issue refunds for aesthetic preferences that match the originally agreed-upon build (e.g. "I changed my mind about cedar tone after seeing it stained"). Stain colors look different on real wood vs. screens; please tell us before we apply the second coat if it's not what you expected.

6. Permits, HOAs, and city inspections

You're responsible for HOA approval. We provide a stamped material spec sheet free of charge to attach to your HOA submission. If a city inspector requires changes mid-build, the cost of those changes is added to your final invoice. We'll always quote any change before doing the work.

7. Payment terms

Deposit due at booking, paid by card via Stripe. Remaining balance due within 7 days of completion, payable by card, ACH, or check. Late balances accrue 1.5%/month.

8. Service area

We serve the Dallas-Fort Worth metro plus a ~20 km buffer. If your address sits outside our coverage area, we'll refund the full deposit and recommend a local installer when possible.

Questions? Send us a note before you book and we'll walk you through anything that's unclear.
