How a fence actually gets built

From the moment you book online to the last picket going up.

Day 0 — You book

You pick a fence style, trace the line on the satellite map, and pay your materials deposit. Within an hour we email back with the confirmed site-walk slot and a list of any HOA paperwork you'll want to start.

Day 1–2 — Site walk

One of our project managers comes out and physically walks the property line with you. We mark the post locations with paint, confirm where gates should go, identify any low spots that will need a stepped fence, and locate utility lines. If your footage is off by more than 10% from what you drew, we re-quote on the spot and you can accept or back out.

Day 2–3 — Materials drop

The lumber yard delivers your pickets, posts, runners, footers, and topper boards directly to your driveway. We schedule it for the morning of install day so the wood sits in the elements as little as possible. If you have a long install (more than 300 ft), we may stage it the day before.

Day 3 — Demolition (if needed)

If you opted into old-fence removal, this is the first thing that happens on install day. The crew pulls the existing fence, removes the old posts (concrete and all), and hauls everything to a transfer station. We sweep the line so the new fence has a clean start.

Day 3 — Posts & footers

The crew digs post holes 24–30 inches deep with a power auger. Each steel post drops in, gets plumb-leveled, and is set in concrete. While the concrete cures (a few hours), we run the footer board along the bottom of the line and start dry-fitting the runners.

Day 3–4 — Pickets & topper

Once the posts are firm, pickets go up one at a time with stainless ring-shank nails into the runners. For Board-on-Board, we set the back pickets first, then the front overlap. The topper trim caps everything off and gives the fence its final silhouette.

Day 4 — Stain & walkthrough

The crew sprays one premium coat of stain in the color you picked at booking. We walk the finished fence with you, look at it from both sides, and only then collect the balance. Anything you flag in the walkthrough we fix before we leave the site.
